…because real women sweat. Not perspire. Not glow. Sweat.

3/6/2012 Workout

Doesn’t it seem like something always comes up and interrupts your routine? I feel like my routine is just out of whack right now as far as the gym goes. Its ok though, because Tracy and I worked out pretty hard today. Today was our running/full body workout day in our training. We loved it so much that I’m switching up the schedule a bit so we can have more time for full body workouts. Woo! So we began with our interval running. I think next week I’m going to up our baseline to 6.0 instead of 5.5. I feel that’s getting a little too easy; time to challenge our bodies!! If you feel like your workouts are getting too easy, there are a couple things you can do to challenge yourself. Increase the time, increase the reps, or increase the weight are three things that will get you off that plateau. Don’t do all three at once.

After intervals we did our full body moves for 1 minute and rested for one minute and did it 2x through.

  • Man maker (I’ve explained this one before…its a doozy)
  • Medicine ball slam
  • Kettlebell swing
  • Wall climb (find a wall, start in push-up position with your feet on the wall. Walk your hands back toward the wall while your feet are moving up the wall. Walk your hands back to starting, but don’t let your feet hit the floor again until the time is up). Tracy, I had us doing this wrong, I forgot to move our hands. I knew something felt off.
  • Tire flip (this one might not be available for everyone. Our gym has a couple huge tires that we have access to, but if you don’t, don’t worry about it. Make sure you bend at your knees, get your hands under the tire, stand up and flip that sucker over. DO NOT USE YOUR BACK TO PULL THE TIRE UP. LET YOUR LEGS AND ARMS DO THE WORK…MOSTLY YOUR LEGS.)

Fun, sweaty times. We were approached by someone who does a boot camp to come join said boot camp, and we turned her down. The reason being that the stuff we do is just as hard as what they are doing out there. Its almost the same, except for swinging the sledgehammer and battling the ropes. She told us that we were two people that could actually hack it out there, which felt good. Its awesome when your hard work is acknowledged.

Happy sweating!
