The Bacon Shake…really?
I know a lot of people have written blogs about this subject, but I just want to touch on it for a minute because I’m appalled at what Americans accept as “food”. The Bacon Shake. Just hearing the name makes me want to vomit. Really, Jack? Really? This thing is just disgusting, literally a heart attack in a cup. The ingredients don’t sound too bad at first: vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, maraschino cherries, and bacon syrup. Not even real bacon…bacon syrup.
Here’s what is going to make you want to walk, no, run away from this drink: This lovely 24. oz concoction has 184mg of cholesterol, 461mg of sodium, 108!!! grams of sugar, 28 grams of saturated fat, and a whopping 1081 calories!!! That’s almost your whole calorie intake for the day, more processed sugar than you should consume in a month, and more fat than you should even think about eating…ever. Oh, but you can get the 16 oz for only 773 calories. Much better. How can anyone think this is a good idea? Oh yeah, the same fast food industry that brought us the KFC Double Down. If you don’t recall this culinary abomination, its a bacon, cheese and mayonnaise sandwich with two pieces of fried chicken as the bun. Its really no wonder why America is an obese nation. It just makes me sick that the people who run these fast food joints are ok with feeding the American people, essentially, poison.
